Mechanical Engineers – Drilling & Well Intervention Systems

Due to an increasing demand for DNV's services, DNV wants to strengthen their team of mechanical engineers. DNV is seeking candidates with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Drilling Systems & Lifting Appliances section is the main unit in DNV Maritime handling Approval & Certification of Drilling & Well Intervention Systems & Equipment, to be installed on Mobile Offshore Units or Ships performing Drilling or Workover/Intervention operations. This includes Well Pressure and Flow Control Equipment such as:

Bulk and Mixing systems
Well influx prevention - drilling fluid circulation and cementing systems.
Well influx management and well shut-in and disconnect systems (Well Control equipment)
Well normalizing - choke and kill systems
Drilling Riser Systems
Well Test Equipment
Coil Tubing Equipment
LWI Equipment
BOP`s and Safety Heads
Workover Riser Systems
The above activities are related to both new equipment, but also overhaul, modifications & repair work of used equipment, life extension assessments, failure investigations etc.

DNV is a leading Classification Society for Mobile Offshore Unit`s & Workover Units and we are currently engaged in numerous ongoing and upcoming projects worldwide.

The work will mainly consist of the following tasks:

Review and approval of equipment designs
Run independent analyses
Support with qualification of new technology
Manage projects involving equipment manufacturers, rig and vessel owners
Support DNV`s surveyors during fabrication, testing & commissioning
Support the development of DNV`s industry standards

Qualifications:
• MSc. degree within mechanical engineering
• 3-5 Years of relevant experience with Drilling or Well Intervention Systems and/or Equipment
• Experience within Finite Element Modelling and analyses
• Experience within programming, using e.g. Java, VBA or Python, is an advantage
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
